Description:
Color in their second year, and in my experience, will breed for their first time in their second year. When colored the males have a brilliant metallic plumage. This monogamous species can be somewhat choosy with there mates. If a male does not like a hen he may chase to her death. Several hens may be needed before he finds one he likes. Requires large aviary with a gravel base. These are great diggers, and require regular deworming. (Twice a year)
