Description:
Will breed usually in the second year. Hens may lay in their first year but the males are rarely fertile until their second year. Males color only in there second year. Highly recommended for the beginner, and can be kept in smaller pens. Several hens can be run with one male. There are reports from other pheasant keepers, that these males can become quite abusive to them. None the birds I have kept of this species have shown this attribute.
